Health Center Mission
University Health Services provides accessible and high-quality health care services to Fordham University Students. It is our goal that students will develop an understanding of dealing with their own health, both physical and mental. We provide education to students with the expectation that this knowledge will enable them to live healthy lifestyles, promote wellness and enable them to achieve academically, spiritually, and socially. Our medical team recognizes and welcomes the uniqueness of our students and we respect human diversity in all its forms. We are members of the Ally Network of Support and we are committed to providing an inclusive environment for all. We assist our students in developing moral and ethical values and characteristics that reflect the Jesuit tradition in regards to health promotion and illness prevention.
Fordham University is a Catholic and Jesuit University. As such, the physicians, nurse practitioners, and staff of the University Health Services abide by the guidelines of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.
Health Center Vision
We recognize that many Fordham University students face pressures balancing academic responsibilities, extra-curricular responsibilities, internship responsibilities, financial issues and stressors related to achieving long-range goals. The University Health Services has a role in helping the student understand and cope with these issues in a “healthful” way so they will have a successful college experience. The University Health Services works in partnership with Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS), the Office of Substance Abuse Prevention and Mental Health and Disability Services, to provide a variety of health related services to the campus community. These services include primary health care such as treatment for acute illnesses, women’s and men’s health care, treatment of minor injuries, public health issues and mental health concerns. In providing these services, we place an emphasis on health education, illness prevention, and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices. The staff of the University Health Services is available to provide quality educational presentations with a focus on taking personal responsibility for one’s health and wellness.

In providing these services, an emphasis is placed on health education, illness prevention, and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices. University Health Services also serves as a resource for health education materials. The staff of University Health Services is available to other areas of the University to provide quality educational presentations with a focus on taking personal responsibility for one's health and wellness.
