Middle States Accreditation

Toward 2025 Reaccreditation

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) reviews the University's mission and goals, its performance, and its resources every eight years in order to ensure compliance with seven standards of excellenceFordham University received a full and unconditional accreditation in 2016 and has begun to prepare for reaccreditation in 2025.

An Opportunity to Reflect

Reaccreditation begins with an institutional self-study led by a steering committee and a variety of working groups and teams. Members are responsible for demonstrating how Fordham has met MSCHE standards across institutional priority areas that the university selects for itself. It culminates in a site visit by an MSCHE Evaluation Team.

Fordham began its process of preparing for the 2025 MSCHE self study in Fall 2022. The MSCHE Self Study Steering committee and working group and team members will engage in rich conversations over the coming years across the University community as we reflect on the ways Fordham's mission supports the future pathways of students, faculty, and staff under our new leadership.

“A successful Self-Study not only leads to MSCHE reaccreditation. It should serve as an opportunity for the University to engage in a deep examination of our current practices, reflect on opportunities and challenges facing our community, and discern what steps we can take collectively to more fully advance our mission.”
