Critical Language Scholarship (CLS)
CLS offers summer language institutes in fourteen critical languages. The program includes intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences designed to promote rapid language gains.
Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship
The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5000 for undergraduate students who receive a Federal Pell grant to study abroad.
The Gilman Scholarship provides $5000 for undergraduate students who are dependents of active or activated military personnel to study abroad.
National Science Foundation (NSF) REU Programs
NSF funds a large number of research opportunities for undergraduate students at REU Sites in the US and abroad. Each student is associated with a specific research project, working closely with the faculty and other researchers. Students are granted stipends and, in many cases, assistance with housing and travel. Placements involve students in meaningful ways in ongoing NSF research programs or in projects designed for the REU program. Students apply directly to an REU site.
UK Fulbright Commission Summer Institutes
The Fulbright UK Summer Institutes are three-to-four week programmes for US undergraduate students to explore the culture, heritage, and history of the UK while experiencing higher education at a UK university. Available to current first-years and sophomores.
