Flourishing in Community Award Structure and Timeline / Estructura de los premios y cronograma
Flourishing in Community grants will be awarded to community groups actively advancing environmental justice. Our goal is to direct funding to frontline community projects that support people disproportionately impacted by climate change, pollution, and environmental stressors in areas where people who are have not historically received federal funds to advance solutions in their own communities.
The Community Leadership Board plays a crucial role in ensuring that the grantmaking process is both accessible and equitable to all. The board’s responsibilities include evaluating applications for funding, making final decisions on project proposals, and ensuring fairness in the distribution of funds. The board also identifies organizations with limited resources for special consideration, providing mentorship, community connections, and support to funded projects.
Additionally, the board continuously assesses the effectiveness of the grantmaking structure, offering feedback on outreach, application processes, project management, and compliance. Divided into three working groups, board members contribute to subgrant selections in specific project and engagement areas, collaborating closely with the grant administration team for evaluations and assessments of funded-projects throughout the grant period.
