American-Scandinavian Foundation Grants and Fellowships
Research or study in one or more Scandinavian countries for up to one year. For seniors, alumni, graduate students. Must have interest in Scandinavia and some language skills.
Funding for graduate students to conduct international travel, study/research, and language study in countries critical to U.S. national security.
Catholic Relief Services International Development Fellows Program
One-year assignments in developing countries in professional positions related to international relief and development.
The Churchill Scholarship and Kanders Churchill Scholarship provide funding to American students for a year of master’s study at the University of Cambridge, based at Churchill College. Scholars focus on STEM subjects and receive an opportunity for independent research (often leading to publications).
Critical Language Scholarship (CLS)
CLS offers summer language institutes in fourteen critical languages. The program includes intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences designed to promote rapid language gains.

The Fulbright program funds year-long academic and cultural international exchanges that allow students from a wide array of disciplines to teach English, conduct independent research or creative projects, and pursue graduate degrees.
The Luce Scholars Program is a nationally competitive fellowship program designed to enhance the understanding of Asia among potential leaders in American society. The program provides stipends, language training, and individualized professional placement in Asia for 15-18 Luce Scholars each year, and welcomes applications from college seniors, graduate students, and young professionals in a variety of fields who have had limited exposure to Asia.
National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)
The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in the natural and social sciences, as well as mathematics and engineering.
