Please join us as we celebrate the life of the legendary Vin Scully, a member of the Fordham Preparatory School Class of 1944 and Fordham College at Rose Hill Class of 1949. For 67 years, he served as the beloved voice of the Dodgers, becoming renowned for his poetic yet plainspoken baseball narration as well as the wisdom and generosity that characterized all his life’s pursuits.
Remembering Vin Scully
A Bronx native, Scully graduated from Fordham Preparatory School and served briefly in the U.S. Navy before enrolling at Fordham College at Rose Hill. He first learned the broadcasting trade at WFUV, the Fordham public media station founded during his undergraduate years. Faith was the bedrock of Vin Scully’s life. According to his family, “He never missed an opportunity to owe every blessing and success to the Grace of God.”
