Academic Transcripts (Required)

We accept a scanned copy of your university transcripts for evaluative purposes. We do not accept records that you have downloaded for personal use.

Acceptable documents must include the university/college name, your name, degree conferred with the date (if applicable), grade point average, and all courses with grades received. We require transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions you attended.

If you are admitted to the program, you will be required to submit official transcripts at the time of your enrollment deposit. Please plan ahead.

Essays (Two Required, One Optional)

The essays play an important role within your application and give you an opportunity to tell us a bit more about you and what you hope to achieve with your Gabelli School degree. The best essays are genuine and concise (and meet the word count limit).

Interview (Required)

Interviews are by invitation only and are required for all applicants who remain competitive following our initial application review.

• Interviews are conducted by members of the admissions staff, faculty members, current students, or alumni.
• Applicants should prepare for a 25- to 30-minute interview.
• Interviews are offered on select days throughout the week on a space-available basis. Interviews should be scheduled at least ten (10) days prior to the date you would like to interview.
• Applicants who are local (within the New York City vicinity) are expected to attend an in-person interview.

Résumé (Required)

A one- or two-page résumé containing your employment and educational background is required with your application. The employment section on your résumé should include locations, titles, and dates, starting with your most recent position. The education section should include the degree awarded date and degrees received.

Letters of Recommendation (One required, one optional)

We require one (1) letter of recommendation and one is optional. Your recommenders should be able to assess your strengths, provide characteristics or attributes that best describe you, and define your ability to succeed in our graduate program. Ideally, the recommendation would come from an immediate supervisor, but this could also come from a professional colleague, or if you are in B2B, this could be from a client or vendor you may have a business relationship with.

Optional Standardized Test Scores (GMAT/GRE/EA)

Standardized tests (e.g., GMAT, GRE, EA) are a component of the application process and play an important role in our holistic evaluation process. Considering challenges brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, for the 2021-2022 admissions cycle, standardized tests of GMAT, GRE, or Executive Assessment will be OPTIONAL for all Professional MBA applicants.

We welcome transfer applicants from other Professional or Part-time MBA programs. Applicants are required to complete the same application process as a new applicant.

Course Waivers for Transfer Students

In certain cases, we may waive specific required core courses for students that have completed a similar course (or courses) at their current institution. All Professional MBA students are required to complete 52.0-credits for the Professional MBA degree here at the Gabelli School of Business. If a course has been waived, students are required to take another course (typically an elective) in place of the waived course. Course waivers will only be considered once an applicant has been admitted and decides to join Gabelli.

Please note: we do not accept transfer credits into our Professional MBA program.

The Professional MBA program charges tuition on a per-credit basis, with the current rate of $1,732 per credit (for the 2021-22 school year).

We offer competitive academic merit- and experience-based scholarships for students entering our Professional MBA program. These scholarships range from $10,000 to $30,000, and all Professional MBA applicants are automatically considered for scholarships at the time of admission. If you are awarded a scholarship the award amount will appear on your admissions letter.
