Dennis FitzSimons
Dennis FitzSimons, FCRH '72, PAR '13, is the former chairman and CEO of Tribune Company, where he spent 25 years in management and executive positions. He served as general manager of Tribune television stations in Chicago, and prior to that New Orleans, before becoming president and CEO of Tribune Broadcasting. He assumed responsibility for the company’s publishing, broadcasting, and digital media groups, as well as the Chicago Cubs. He was elected to Tribune’s board of directors in 2000.
FitzSimons chaired the Media Security and Reliability Council for the Federal Communication Commission from 2002 to 2004 and was a director of the Associated Press from 2004 to 2007. He currently serves as chairman of the Robert R. McCormick Foundation in the Chicago area, which focuses on First Amendment freedoms as well as early childhood education. He is also a director of Nexstar Media, the largest television group in the U.S. He is a former member of Fordham's Board of Trustees.
