Joshua Burgher
Vice President for Finance
Joshua Burgher joined Fordham in July 2024 as the University’s vice president of finance and assistant treasurer. He manages the University’s financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, accounting and financial reporting, treasury operations, cash management and financing, payroll, strategic sourcing, and accounts payable.
Burgher has held several senior financial and operational leadership roles at Columbia University, Georgetown University, The New School, and Golden Gate University. Prior to his roles in academics, he was a management consultant at Ernst & Young, focusing on finance and performance management, as well as M&A transaction support services, primarily for the media, entertainment, and communications sectors.
Burgher studies the optimization of nonprofit entities in their efforts to balance the achievement of desired mission impact and financial sustainability and has held faculty appointments in the area of strategy, analytics, and leadership. He has a Phd from Tilburg University in The Netherlands, an MBA from Columbia University, an M.S. in Engineering and Technology Management from Colorado School of Mines, and a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Purdue University.
