The ¡GO! Team
There are 3 main ways to join Global Outreach:
- As a Participant
- As a Leader
- As a Chaperone
Each Project has 1 Student Leader, 1 Chaperone, and 8-10 Participants.
¡GO! Formation Process
For the 8-10 weeks before immersion, each ¡GO! Project team will meet regularly for "formation." These meetings serve 2 purposes:
- To build a cohesive team
- To learn more about the project (where we're going, who we're working with, and why)
These goals are met over the course of the 8-10 weekly meetings, which are broken up into 3 phases:
- Introduction to ¡GO!
- Learning about the Center for Community Engaged Learning and the History of Global Outreach
- Understanding the relationship between Social Justice and Ignatian Spirituality
- Considering language Personal Reflection
- Project Content
- What is the Context and Culture of the Specific Project
- Meeting the Community Partner
- Logistics
- Travel Plans
- Project Itinerary

Leadership Criteria:
- Have previously participated in a Global Outreach project
- Lead all formation meetings
- Meet regularly with ¡GO! Coordinators
- Coordinate fundraising
- Adhere to the 5 Pillars of Global Outreach
Time Commitment
- Weekly 2-hour formation
- 1 All-Day Retreat
- ¡GO! Commissioning
- Weekly 1:1 meeting with the Immersion Coordinator
- Bi-Weekly meeting with the Global Outreach Director

- Informal interview with a Project Leader
Chaperone Criteria:
- Help facilitate most formation meetings, GO! retreat
- Adhere to the 5 Pillars of Global Outreach
