Víctor M. Pichardo
Victor M. Pichardo Jr. (he/him/el) is the son of Dominican immigrants, a former Member of the New York State Assembly, and the current Vice President for Community and Government Affairs at SBH Health System in the Bronx.
Born in New York City, Victor spent his childhood living in the Fordham Road section of the Bronx and the Inwood section of Upper Manhattan. In 1993, Victor and his family relocated to his parents’ homeland of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he completed most of his elementary school education.
Victor spent four years working for U.S. Senator Charles Schumer in several different capacities, including senior staff and primary Latino Liaison. In 2012, Victor became the Director of Community Affairs for State Senator Gustavo Rivera in the Bronx. Shortly after leaving Senator Rivera’s office, he was elected to represent the 86th Assembly District in the Bronx, where he served with distinction for eight years.
Victor earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University at Buffalo in 2007. In 2018, he received an honorary Doctor of Laws from Mercy College.
Victor is married to his longtime partner, Glendalys, and they have two daughters together.
