Why Choose Fordham?
-
Learn from experts who bridge the gap between academia and the professional world. Our faculty are seasoned professionals with deep experience in economic development, financial economics, applied microeconomic fields like health and environmental economics, computational and monetary economics, as well as advanced micro-theory and econometrics. In addition to publishing in academic journals and the popular press, our faculty have worked with colleagues at the United Nations, the World Bank, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the International Monetary Fund, and companies from Citibank to TIAA-CREF as well as local institutions like the Bronx Council on Economic Development.
-
Immerse yourself in the epicenter of finance and corporate activity – New York City. As the financial capital of the world, it offers our students unparalleled opportunities for networking, internships, and real-world experience.
-
Fordham now designates the M.A. in Economics with the STEM CIP code of "Econometrics and Quantitative Economics." This more accurately reflects our academic programs' quantitative and analytic focus and allows our international students with valid F1 visas to request a two-year extension for OPT (in addition to the standard one year). Please consult Fordham’s STEM Extension page for more information.
