Alpha Chi Omicron
Founded in 2017, Alpha Chi Omicron (AXO) is Fordham’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honors society. At once an honor society and a service organization, AXO aims both to confer distinction on academically accomplished students and to promote interest in literary studies at Fordham and beyond.
AXO members receive many benefits, including opportunities for paid internships, writing prizes, publication in national journals, and participation in Sigma Tau Delta’s international convention, held each spring in cities such as New Orleans, Daytona Beach, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
AXO members are also eligible to compete for many generous scholarships. For
example:
- Junior Scholarships ($3,000)
- Senior Scholarships ($4,000)
- The William C. Johnson Distinguished Scholarship ($6,000)
- Continuing Education Scholarship ($2,500)
- P.C. Somerville Award for Future Teachers ($2,000)
- Study Abroad Scholarship ($3,000)
- Summer Program Scholarship ($1,500)
- Graduate Scholarship ($4,000)
- Regents Scholarship ($1,000)
