Cassamarca Lecture
Hosted by the Graduate Program in International Political Economy and Development (IPED) of Fordham University, the annual Cassamarca Foundation Lecture brings together international specialists, authorities and professionals who highlight urgent issues of migration and globalization. The lectures seek to illuminate current concerns on these global issues by integrating the insights and perspectives of various experts.
Established in Treviso (Italy) in 1992, the Cassamarca Foundation is a philanthropic organization that operates and provides assistance in several fields including scientific research, the preservation of the environment, health, education, the arts and culture in general, emigration and immigration. The Foundation is actively engaged in the promotion of Italian culture globally.

The Cassamarca Foundation Lecture examined the existence of slavery in the modern age and the various ways that human trafficking manifests itself in countries around the world. The consultation was focused on the realities of human trafficking today, what is being done in the international community, and the opportunities there are moving forward.
