Professor Fessatidis's primary area of research is transport properties of novel semiconductor systems in confined geometries (zero-, one-, and two-dimensions). He also does research on the physics of nanostructures in solid-state devices and quantum field theory methods in condensed matter physics.

Professor Fessatidis joined the faculty in 1993 after completing postdoctoral work at Stevens Institute of Technology.
