Biography
Kara is a first year master’s student, with a concentration in Modern and Contemporary Theology. She is primarily interested in embodiment, trauma and grief, and their intersection with womanist and liberationist theologies.
Before pursuing her MTS, she received a BFA in Communication Design and English Literature from Washington University in St. Louis. She spent a decade designing and art directing for publications including The Atlantic, Commonweal, and Harvard Divinity Bulletin, as well as creating typefaces for clients including Google and Yahoo.
She has over 500 hours of yoga teacher training with a focus on alignment, integration, and trauma-informed practices. She now lives in Brooklyn, NY with her partner, Matthew.
