Blackboard as the Recommended Student/Faculty Access Portal
In order to create a consistent and easy-to-navigate experience for our students, the FAS Flexible Hybrid Transition Team strongly recommends that faculty use Blackboard as the main online medium for A&S courses.
Blackboard is the Learning Management System (LMS) supported by Fordham University IT. It has been determined by the University to meet Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements concerning the protection of student data as well as online accessibility standards under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). By using Blackboard as the LMS for A&S courses, faculty can ensure that their courses remain compliant with the provisions of FERPA and ADA. While faculty are not required to use Blackboard or any LMS, if an LMS is used, it should be the LMS vetted and supported by the University.
We have created a special template called “the Blackboard Classroom” to make it easier for you to integrate it into Flexible Hybrid Learning. Here is a video on how to use it.
