Lt. Sean Walker

Lieutenant Sean Walker has more than 30 years of experience in public safety, including more than 20 years with the NYPD. He currently coordinates NYPD’s interagency initiatives related to mental health and substance use, focused on providing critical services and support to the communities served by the NYPD. Lt. Walker has been instrumental in the development of numerous mental health and substance use programs deployed in New York City, including Crisis Intervention Team training for the NYPD, the Behavioral Health Emergency Assistance Response Division (B-HEARD) mental health response with FDNY and NYC Health and Hospitals, and NYPD’s new Leave-Behind Naloxone program. His work focuses on creating a more supportive and responsive approach to mental health and substance use within law enforcement, prioritizing connection to care, community well-being, and public safety.
