Bio:
Janna C. Heyman, PhD, LMSW, is Professor and Endowed Chair of the Henry C. Ravazzin Center on Aging and Intergenerational Studies at Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service. She is also Director of the Children & Families Institute at Fordham University. Dr. Heyman has written numerous articles on health care, aging, foster care, and social work education. She has taught social work research, advanced research, health care policy, and social welfare policy courses in the Master of Social Work program, as well as policy implementation in the doctoral program. She was President of the State Society on Aging (SSA) of New York and continues to serve on the SSA Board. Dr. Heyman is a Fellow at the New York Academy of Medicine and at the Gerontological Society of America. Prior to entering academia, she was a researcher and a planning and policy analyst, and served as Deputy Director of a large federal and state health care planning agency.
