University Commencement and Diploma Ceremonies Severe Weather Locations

Because we do not have one indoor facility that is large enough to hold all of our graduates and guests, we will hold the University Commencement ceremony outside if at all possible.

Please be aware that if there is just a little rain or periodic showers, the ceremony will likely remain outside. Therefore, please plan ahead and carry an umbrella, wear sensible shoes, and bring a nice sense of humor.

The decision regarding the severe weather plan will be made on the evening before the ceremonies. You may check Fordham's website at fordham.edu or call the University at 800-280-7669 for a recorded announcement.

If the decision is made to conduct the ceremonies indoors, two guest tickets are required. Information regarding claiming two guest tickets will be shared by the dean’s offices with graduates.

Graduates and their two guests (with tickets) should report to the following severe weather locations:

Saturday, May 17

Fordham College at Rose Hill: Lombardi Fieldhouse
Gabelli School of Business (bachelor's candidates): Rose Hill Gymnasium
Fordham College at Lincoln Center: Martyrs' Lawn Tent
School of Professional and Continuing Studies: Keating First Auditorium
Graduate School of Arts and Sciences: Fordham Prep Theater 
Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education: Keating Third Auditorium
Gabelli School of Business (master's/doctoral candidates): Flom Auditorium, Walsh Library
Graduate School of Education:  Flom Auditorium, Walsh Library
Graduate School of Social Service: Flom Auditorium, Walsh Library
School of Law: Flom Auditorium, Walsh Library

The University Commencement ceremony address and honorary degree presentations will be videocast to the locations listed above. Graduates will remain at the locations for their diploma ceremonies.
