Bozena I. Mierzejewska, Ph.D.
Program Director, Associate Professor
Dr. Mierzejewska’s research and teaching focus on media management and the impact of digitization on media organizations. She is a recipient of the 2010 Sherman Teaching Award and the post-doctoral Marie Curie Fellowship. She is the editor of JMM – The International Journal on Media Management. She also serves on multiple editorial boards.
Prior to joining Fordham, Dr. Mierzejewska taught and researched at Jönköping International Business School, Sweden and the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. She received her Ph.D. from the University of St. Gallen.
John Fortunato, Ph.D.
Area Chair, Professor
Dr. Fortunato is the author of four books and a number of scholarly articles in respected journals. He also has served on a range of editorial boards. Before coming to the Gabelli School, Dr. Fortunato worked at NBC Sports and was a professor in the advertising and public relations department at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University.
Travis Russ, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Dr. Russ teaches classes in communication and performance. His research cuts across the fields of communication, psychology, performance, qualitative research, and narrative studies. He has won awards from national and international research organizations. Dr. Russ is also a writer and director and the founding artistic director of Life Jacket Theatre. He received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University.
Meghann L. Drury-Grogan, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Dr. Drury-Grogan’s research focuses on decision-making and team behaviors, project management communication, and organizational communication. She has published in leading journals, presented at international conferences, and received numerous academic and industry awards. Prior to teaching at the Gabelli School, Dr. Drury-Grogan worked at Deloitte Consulting LLP. She received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University.

Axel Roepnack, Ph.D.
Clinical Assistant Professor
Dr. Roepnack's research interests focus on questions related to media business: how digital transformation is challenging different media sectors, how the business models of media companies are affected, and how to innovate media business models. He worked for more than 10 years as a management and communication consultant with international clients across Europe. He received his Ph.D. from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.
