- When do you begin to accept applications for the summer programs?
- The Fordham Finance Institute begins accepting applications in early January using a rolling admissions process.
- How long will it take to receive an acceptance notification?
- We typically send out an acceptance via email within a month of receiving the application and aim to notify applicants within a week if a particular weekly program is nearing capacity.
- Do the programs typically fill up?
- Our summer business programs for high school students are popular and often reach capacity, so it's best to apply early to secure your spot.
- Do you place students on a waitlist?
- Yes, if a week is at capacity, we will place students on a waitlist.
- What does the application process entail?
- When applying, the student must submit the application, a recent report card, and a $100 deposit. We will not consider the application until we receive all three items.
- Are need-based discounts available?
- Yes, need-based discounts are available for students with family incomes below $50,000 per year and will be awarded in April.
- Where are the week-long programs held?
- The programs are conducted on the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx, within the Gabelli School of Business.
- Is housing provided for these programs by the University?
- No, the Fordham Finance Institute summer programs do not provide housing accommodations.
- What do most students do for housing while attending the summer program?
- Many out-of-state students come with their families or stay with relatives in the area, turning the trip into a vacation or college tour. If you are staying in a hotel, most families choose to stay in Manhattan which is a short twenty-minute train ride from Grand Central Station to the Fordham campus.
- Will students receive a certificate of completion?
- Yes, students will receive a certificate of completion from the Gabelli School of Business.
- Are international students eligible to apply for these programs?
- Fordham University does not offer student visas for summer high school programs. International students currently in the country and not requiring a visa are eligible to apply. Any international student is eligible to participate remotely.
- Are rising 9th-graders eligible to apply?
- The program is intended for students in grades 10-12. Rising 9th graders can apply next year.
- Can a student receive college credit for the summer business program?
- These programs are non-credit enrichment programs.
