Sophomore Advising: Advising Requirements
Each Gabelli School sophomore will be expected to complete certain required and optional events throughout the year. These events will ensure that you have exposure to our extraordinary on-campus opportunities for exploration and discovery. Sophomores are required to complete three large-group advising sessions per semester and have the ability to take advantage of unlimited optional opportunities. The requirements are:
FALL:
- Attend the THREE required large-group advising sessions
- Visit the International & Study Abroad Programs Office office to plan for a future opportunity to study abroad
- Set up an appointment with Personal & Professional Development (PPD) team to discuss your résumé, cover letter, and internship plans
SPRING:
- Attend the THREE required large-group advising sessions
- Meet with Dean Decker to declare your major in March
- Attend at least two PPD workshops
*Please note that failing and/or incomplete grades in non-credit and for-credit courses affect eligibility for Dean's List and other academic honors.
