Robert D. Daleo, GABELLI ’72, and Linda Daleo
Bob Daleo is chair of the Fordham University Board of Trustees and former executive vice president and chief financial officer of Thomson Reuters. He and Linda Daleo, a retired educator, are committed supporters of the University who also provide opportunity for children and families through their generous support for numerous institutions and causes in the New York region.
Bob and Linda both grew up in the Bronx and met during their college years. A graduate of Lehman College, Linda served as an adjunct professor at Bronx Community College and worked for 38 years as a teacher in the Weehawken, New Jersey, public schools, where she oversaw the district’s K–6 reading programs. Bob served in financial and operational roles at McGraw Hill and Automatic Data Processing before joining Thomson Reuters, from which he retired in 2012. As board chairman since 2012, Bob has played a critical role in the University’s growth and strategic advancement, providing principled and visionary leadership informed by his successful business career. The Daleos support many nonprofit institutions including Cristo Rey New York High School and the New Jersey Community Development Corporation, where Bob chaired the Board of Trustees.
At Fordham, they established an endowed scholarship in memory of Bob’s late brother, Paul Daleo, GABELLI ’68, ’75, and they were major contributors to the renovation that created a home for the Gabelli School of Business at Hughes Hall, where Daleo Hall was named in their honor. They are leadership level donors to the Joseph M. McShane, S.J. Campus Center project and many other University priorities.
