Laura Risimini
Laura Risimini, FCLC ’10; GSAS ’13
Laura Risimini is the foundation manager at The Sister Fund, a private family foundation/women’s fund, which historically has focused on the importance of the values and voices of women of faith. Currently, it is in the process of broadening its focus to include the interests of The Sister Fund’s donor family. In her role, Risimini is responsible for overseeing this transition, in addition to all aspects of grant cycle management, and providing support and technical assistance to grantee partners. Risimini also supports the ongoing philanthropic engagement of the Next Generation Grant Advisors.
Prior to joining The Sister Fund, she worked at the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs at Fordham University, where she was responsible for coordinating international training programs for humanitarian aid workers. Risimini has also worked with humanitarian consultants and completed internships with the development department of Concern Worldwide, U.S., Inc. and the NGO department of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. Risimini recently served on the Grant Advisory Committee for the New York Women’s Foundation and is a member of the Concern Leadership Network.
Risimini received her bachelor’s degree cum laude in international studies, with departmental honors, from Fordham University in 2010, and a Master of Arts in political science from Fordham University in 2013. Risimini is passionate about working for organizations that support women’s rights, social justice, poverty alleviation, and international development. She lives in Long Beach, New York.
