Donna Smolens, FCRH ’79, GSAS ’81

Donna Smolens, FCRH ’79, GSAS ’81, joined Insight Partners, a leading global private equity and venture capital firm, in 2015 as a senior advisor. Prior to Insight, she was a managing director and co-head of the North American research and due diligence team at Portfolio Advisors LLC. During her 11 years at the firm, she was a voting member on the investment committees of numerous portfolio advisors funds and on the advisory boards of 13 private equity funds. Previously, she was a general partner with Technology Crossover Ventures, where she handled investor relations, and a senior vice president at DLJ Securities Private Fund Group, where she was responsible for the origination, screening, and due diligence on private equity funds marketed by the firm. Prior to DLJ, she was a portfolio manager with General Motors Investment Management and an investment vice president at New York Life Insurance Company, where she managed private equity portfolios. Donna graduated from Fordham University with both a B.A. and M.A. in economics.
