Join us for an evening of inspiration and learning as Dr. Patricia M. Virella explores the transformative role of equity-oriented leadership during challenging times. Drawing from her forthcoming book, Crisis as Catalyst, Dr. Virella will share a flexible framework for school leaders to respond to crises with inclusivity and equity, based on insights from her extensive research with school principals across the United States and Puerto Rico.

The event will feature:

• A Keynote Address by Patricia M. Virella, Ph.D., on actionable strategies for equity-oriented crisis leadership.
• A Panel Discussion with Fordham students and alumni, offering real-world perspectives on navigating crises in education.
• A Networking Reception to connect with ELAP faculty, attendees, and Fordham’s vibrant community of leaders.

About Patricia M. Virella, Ph.D.

Patricia M. Virella, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at Montclair State University. Her groundbreaking research focuses on equity-oriented crisis leadership, helping school leaders create systems and structures that support marginalized communities during crises. An accomplished author and educator, Virella’s work bridges theory and practice to advance justice and equity in education.
