FAQ NYS Mandated Workshops
PLEASE NOTE: All Fordham Students MUST register for the Spring Semester NYS Mandated Workshops via their student portal by February 5, 2022.

The Hagin Center is currently offering three workshops, which include: Dignity for All Students Act (DASA), Child Abuse Identification and Reporting (CAIR), and Schools Against Violence Education (SAVE) workshops.

Each workshop is held twice a semester every semester.

- You will need to complete the “Course Withdrawal/Late Registration Form.” Please see the link to this form
- Please note that since you are registering past February 5th, your information may not reach our coordinators in time. Once you register via this link, please email [email protected] to alert us that you have registered late.
- Individuals who register within the week of the workshop may not be eligible to participate due to their lateness, and may be asked to join a workshop on another date.

No, you only need to attend one date of the workshop. We offer two dates for each workshop to increase flexibility for students.

Anyone can attend the DASA, CAIR, and SAVE workshops at Fordham University. You do not need to be a student.

Please contact your academic advisor to confirm if you are required by your program to complete these workshops.

- You will receive a confirmation email with information regarding the workshops google classroom about two week before the workshop begins
- Note: You need an email address ending in “@gmail.com” to access the google classrooms associated with the DASA workshop.
- Please review the information posted on the google classroom/google folders prior to the scheduled zoom workshop date.
- DASA WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS - You MUST complete the asynchronous material and preliminary tests located on google classroom by the assigned due date BEFORE attending the synchronous Zoom Workshop.
- If DASA participants do not complete the asynchronous materials, they will not be granted a certificate of completion.
- You will receive a confirmation email with information regarding the workshops google classroom about two week before the workshop begins

To withdraw from the workshop, please send an email to the following accounts:

In the email, please state:
- The name in which you registered under.
- Whether you are a student or a non-student
- The email account in which you registered with. AND/OR your student FIDN. (If applicable)
- The name of the workshop you wish to withdraw from.
- The date of the workshop you wish to withdraw from.

Proof of prior attendance could show up in a few places:
- Your Fordham transcript
- And/or the NYS TEACH Account.
- And/or via the Hagin Center certificate archives.
Please, first check your transcript to find proof of attendance:
- In order to view this, please go to your my.Fordham account (fordham.edu > Student tab > Student Services Dashboard > Student Profile > Academic Transcript)
If you are still having difficulty viewing the workshops on your transcript, please send an email to the following accounts:

- A TEACH account is how the New York State Department of Education keeps track of information pertaining to teachers and school personnel in the state.
- You will need to register for a TEACH account in order to provide proof of NYS Mandated workshops to the NYS DOE.
