Who Restorative Communities Serve
Restorative Communities provide a bridge to functioning in the community for populations who have experienced alienation and isolation from mainstream society. This includes homeless individuals, those returning from incarceration or military service and domestic violence survivors. Often these individuals are also recovering from substance abuse. Their adverse life experiences have caused them significant trauma, preventing them from functioning to their fullest potential. The majority of program participants come to the program with a desire to improve their ability to cope with formidable challenges and to find a place of hope, belonging, and support.
While life issues may be daunting, each person brings a wealth of life experience, talents, and potential with which to begin a new chapter in their life. Most impressive is the community's ability to journey together in completing this intensive three- to five-month-long program.
