Valerie began her social work career with JCY-Westchester Community Partners, where she served as the director of volunteers. She has worked in the field of aging at all levels of social work (micro, mezzo, and macro) during her tenure as Livable Communities Coordinator for Westchester County’s Department of Senior Programs and Services. Currently, she serves as the director of afterschool programs at Family Service Society of Yonkers. Prior to becoming a social worker, Valerie was a corporate attorney at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson, where she was fortunate to work on a variety of pro bono matters involving startup nonprofits, as well as issues relating to healthcare and social security.
