Fordham University, Department of Psychology: Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in the Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology Program to begin August 2024.
The Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology doctoral program is seeking a candidate with a strong publication record, an established history of external research funding (or clear evidence of potential to secure funding), and teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level who can contribute to the program’s expertise in advanced measurement, evaluation, and statistical skills and the larger psychology department. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: integrative data analysis and meta-analysis, cognitive diagnostic modeling, causal inference, Bayesian statistics, social network analysis, missing data analysis, program evaluation, or qualitative and mixed methods in assessment research. Candidates have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty whose research focuses on propensity score analysis, latent variable interaction, missing data analysis, item response theory, psychometric model specification, fit, and interpolation, nonparametric methods, Bayesian statistics, judgement, and decision making, as well as with faculty from the Applied Developmental and Clinical Psychology programs.
The Department of Psychology offers doctoral degrees in Applied Developmental Psychology (ADP), Clinical Psychology, and Psychometric/Quantitative Psychology, along with Master’s degrees in Applied Psychological Methods and Clinical Research Methods. The Department is located on both campuses of Fordham University, with the graduate programs located at our Rose Hill campus in the Bronx and undergraduate programs at both the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center (Manhattan) campuses. The primary location for this position will be the Rose Hill campus. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, establishing/maintaining a productive independent program of research, and mentoring undergraduate research and graduate students’ theses and dissertations. Fordham University, Department of Psychology: Anne Anastasi Professor of Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology (Endowed Chair) to begin August 2024.
The Psychology Department at Fordham University invites applications from highly qualified candidates for the Anne Anastasi Professor of Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology Endowed Chair. Applicants will have a distinguished record of teaching and research in the area of quantitative research methods and their application to psychometrics and psychology. Competitive candidates will have a nationally recognized research program; involvement in externally funded research; capability of excellent undergraduate and graduate teaching; a track record of mentoring master and doctoral students; and potential for contributions to the other doctoral and master’s programs in the Department. Applicants will be expected to qualify for an appointment as a tenured full professor. Experience as a senior level leader in testing or assessment enterprises would be an asset, and experience in the design and implementation of educational programs for practitioners in the public or private sectors is desirable.
The recipient of the appointment will play a key role in the leadership and development of the Department’s Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology doctoral program, such as organizing the annual Anastasi lecture. The Department offers doctoral programs in Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology, Applied Developmental Psychology, Clinical Psychology (APA accredited), along with Master’s degrees in Applied Psychological Methods and Clinical Research Methods. The Department is located on the two campuses of Fordham University, with the graduate programs located at our Rose Hill campus in the Bronx and undergraduate programs at both the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center (Manhattan) campuses. The primary location for this position will be the Rose Hill campus. Faculty members engage in diverse research activities, partner with interdisciplinary units directed by psychology faculty such as the Center for Ethics and Ethics Education, and collaborate with researchers and practitioners throughout the NYC area.
