Scan & Fax

Overview

Faculty, Staff, and students can use the Canon devices to scan to their email, Google drive, OneDrive, or send as a FAX.

Scan to your email

  • Place documents face-up in the feeder or facedown on the glass.
  • Tap your Fordham ID over the card reader or log in with your Fordham username and password
  • Tap the Scan icon
  • From the main scan screen, touch Scan to My Email
  • You can modify the file name and subject line here, or, if necessary, apply different scan settings. 
  • Touch Start
  • To add pages to your current document, touch Scan new page
  • To start scanning a new document, touch Scan new document
  • Touch Finish to send the document.
  • Touch the logout button on the top/right to end your session

Scan to Google Drive

  • Place documents face-up in the feeder or facedown on the glass.
  • Tap your Fordham ID over the card reader or log in with your Fordham username and password
  • Tap the Scan icon
  • From the main scan screen, touch Google Scan
  • You can modify the file name or, if necessary, apply different scan settings. If not, touch Start.
  • Touch Start
  • To add pages to your current document, touch Scan new page
  • To start scanning a new document, touch Scan new document
  • Touch Finish to send the document.
  • Touch the logout button on the top/right to end your session

Scan to OneDrive

  • Place documents face-up in the feeder or facedown on the glass.
  • Tap your Fordham ID over the card reader or log in with your Fordham username and password
  • Tap the Scan icon
  • From the main scan screen, touch OneDrive
  • You can modify the file name or, if necessary, apply different scan settings. If not, touch Start.
  • Touch Start
  • To add pages to your current document, touch Scan new page
  • To start scanning a new document, touch Scan new document
  • Touch Finish to send the document.
  • Touch the logout button on the top/right to end your session

Send a Fax

  • Place documents face-up in the feeder or facedown on the glass.
  • Tap your Fordham ID over the card reader or log in with your Fordham username and password
  • Tap the Scan icon
  • From the main scan screen, touch eFax
  • Touch the +  button to add a recipient.
  • Enter the recipient’s information
    • Add 1 before the number in the fax number field
  • Touch Add Recipient to begin the fax process. 
  • You can add additional recipients if necessary or apply different settings. 
  • Touch Start
  • To add pages to your current document, touch Scan new page. 
  • To start scanning a new document, touch Scan new document. Touch Finish to send the document.
  • Touch the logout button on the top/right to end your session

Scan Settings

You can modify any of the following scan settings prior to sending the document to your selected destination such as OneDrive, Google Drive, or your email:

  • Duplex Mode: Choose whether your original document is 1-sided or 2-sided.
  • File type: Specify the document type you are scanning (e.g., PDF, TIFF, JPEG).
  • Orientation: Select the orientation for displaying your scanned document: portrait or landscape.
  • DPI: Select the resolution for your scanned document. The default setting is 300 dpi. NOTE: A document scanned at 600 dpi will take longer to process.
  • Paper size: Select your document size.
  • Color mode: Change the color settings of your document.
