POSITION: CIO Office Assistant at RH

SUPERVISOR: Assistant VP, IT Planning

SUMMARY

The CIO Office Assistant will be a vital member of our team, assisting in the daily administration and support within the Office of the VP/CIO. This role requires a highly motivated and ambitious student with exceptional analytical, research, statistical, and programming skills, creative thinking, and is innovative. Applicants are expected to be tech-savvy, provide a high level of customer service, demonstrate exemplary interpersonal skills, and maintain a professional attitude at all times. Hours will be assigned around your class schedule, with a minimum of 10 hours and a maximum of 19 hours a week.

The ideal candidate has developer skills in addition to knowledge of Office applications. This individual will also be responsible for building small code or applications as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a registered full-time student.
  • Must be in good academic standing during the semester of their appointment.
  • Must uphold, enforce, and abide by all university policies.
  • Highly motivated student with a passion for creating and supporting great products.
  • Familiar with basic computer operations that include: software installation/updating, antivirus software installation, mobile app configuration, and hardware scans
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks

  • Able to handle confidential/sensitive information in a professional and secure
  • Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of software development and programming languages.

  • Help the CIO with the technology needs of the university from a Student perspective
  • Identify entrepreneurial opportunities to leverage technology for Student engagement or experiences at Fordham
  • Identify student experience issues with technical systems
  • Build rapid prototypes to showcase needs for student technology application needs
  • Rapid prototyping for student requests/concepts
  • Be able to conduct Landscape research and Longitudinal research as well as Background research of various needs and requests, and then create reports
  • Curious mind to play with emerging technologies like VR, AI, Quantum Computing, IoT, and others.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with staff to execute application design requirements.
  • Design customer end-user experience interfaces.
  • Engage in real-world cross-functional technology problem-solving.
  • Support Product Specialists on R&D research and feature requirement gathering.
  • Provide testing support in staging and production environments.
  • Create software documentation to track progress and updates.
  • Build performant and usable interfaces for growing businesses with complex needs.

COMPENSATION: $16.00 per hour
