Additional Employee Information on the Coronavirus
The Office of Human Resources Management is here to support our employees and their families during these tumultuous and uncertain times. The health and well-being of our Fordham community is at the forefront of all University decisions as the circumstances from the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to change.
In order to support the well-being of our Fordham family, we have created a Self-Care for Employees’ website. Here you will find information regarding Caring for Your Whole Person, Managing Anxiety and Stress, and Helpful Links that provide access to a number of resources, including:
- Fordham’s Response to COVID-19
- MetLife and UnitedHealthcare Employee Assistance Programs
- UnitedHealthcare Resources
- Work-from-Home Assistance
- Best Informational Resources for COVID-19
You can also link to Attend Mass Online and virtual Yoga and Meditation classes.
As you are aware, the University has transitioned as many employees as possible to work remotely without sacrificing the safe operation of our institution. In turn, it is important that we collectively operate efficiently and effectively during this unprecedented time period.
It is the University’s expectation that you:
- Start work on time.
- Promptly respond to phone calls and emails.
- Continue to provide the same level excellent service to your constituents that they have come to expect.
In addition, please note: Absences and hours worked will continue to be approved by your manager/supervisor as per the current practice. Employee pay will continue to be disbursed on its regular schedule. Any employee currently receiving a paper check will receive it by mail at their address on file unless specific arrangements are made by contacting [email protected].
We encourage you to visit the Guidance on Employee Pay and Working from Home website, as well as FAQs for Employees for more information.
If you have a compromised immune system or respiratory condition confirmed by a medical professional and you require special accommodations, please contact our office at 718-817-4930 to discuss. We will explore options with you, however, we do ask that you present documentation (digital or electronic) regarding your condition.
Lastly, please note that national origin discrimination and/or harassment are inappropriate and have no place at Fordham University. If you are exhibiting fear for reasons that are unrelated to coronavirus and are based solely on national origin and/or race, please contact our office at 718-817-4930 and also visit the Office of Civil Rights Coronavirus Statement website.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation and flexibility as we all continue to keep our Fordham community safe and healthy.
