Additional Faculty Information on the Coronavirus

I want to assure you that the Provost’s Office in conjunction with each of the Deans’ Offices will work to support you through these turbulent times. Our goal is to maintain a continuity of services across the campus so that our core academic functions can persist, albeit under an evolving set of challenging constraints.

Anticipating some of the questions you might have, I am sharing with you here a revised FAQ webpage intended to provide timely information across a broad spectrum of concerns. The FAQ webpage addresses various implications of the decision to suspend normal operations on campus, such as the transition of classes to an online format, the suspension of non-essential University-sponsored international travel, and the conduct of department meetings when faculty aren’t able to meet in person. We will update the FAQ webpage as new developments arise.

For those of you teaching courses this semester, I would ask that you communicate right away with your students and let them know how you plan to conduct your course online both before and after spring break. Your dean may provide you with specific guidance for your school/college. Helpful resources are available through the Office of Online Learning and the Faculty Technology Center.

I deeply regret that the rapid spread of the coronavirus locally and globally has significantly disrupted our campus operations. However, I am confident that our collective efforts will advance Fordham’s academic mission while we work to protect the health and safety of each member of our community.
