Sponsor a Wellness-Related Activity

The Law School's Office of Professionalism is organizing a number of wellness-related events during the Spring 2025 semester that include an opportunity for employer sponsorships:

  1. Mental Health First Aid Training
  2. Developing Healthy Habits Workshop
  3. Ensuring Respectful Treatment of Transgender Clients
  4. De-Stress Fest

The details of each are listed below, including relevant dates.

Mental Health First Aid Training

This training is an evidence-based program designed to teach members of the community how to identify and respond to signs of mental health distress and substance use issues among their peers, students, and colleagues. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of common mental illnesses and substance use disorders, safely de-escalate crisis situations, and initiate timely referrals to mental health and substance abuse resources available in the community. This 8-hour training will take place on January 24, 2025.

The fee to sponsor this program is $500.  Employers interested in sponsoring this program should email Maya FitzGerald, Director of Professionalism ([email protected]) no later than 1 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, indicating their interest. In the event that multiple employers express an interest in sponsoring the activity, the Office of Professionalism will conduct a lottery to determine which employer will garner the sponsorship. All employers who expressed interest will receive an email by 5 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, informing them whether they’ve been selected for this sponsorship.

Developing Healthy Habits Workshop

In this workshop, participants will learn strategies for integrating healthy habits into their busy schedules, and they will be provided with tools to support mindfulness and well-being while managing the rigors of law school. This workshop will take place on March 26, 2025.

The fee to sponsor this program is $500.  Employers interested in sponsoring this program should email Maya FitzGerald, Director of Professionalism ([email protected]) no later than 1 p.m. no later than 1 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, indicating their interest. In the event that multiple employers express an interest in sponsoring the activity, the Office of Professionalism will conduct a lottery to determine which employer will garner the sponsorship. Ensuring Respectful Treatment of Transgender Clients

In this training, students will learn proper terminology and best practices for working with transgender clients. Through a series of interactive case studies, students will have the opportunity to develop their interpersonal skills and cultivate the cultural sensitivity necessary for effective and respectful client engagement. This workshop will take place on March 31, 2025.

De-Stress Fest

In advance of finals week this spring, the Office of Professionalism will be offering a variety of activities for students to participate in as an opportunity to “de-stress.” Activities will include meditation, art therapy, board games, and outdoor games (i.e. cornhole, kickball, etc.). Healthy, energy-boosting snacks will be provided to students. The De-Stress Fest will take place on April 23, 2025. 

The fee to sponsor this event is $1,000. Employers interested in sponsoring this program should email Maya FitzGerald, Director of Professionalism ([email protected]) no later than 1 p.m. no later than 1 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025, indicating their interest.
