Fordham Foundry Third Annual Pitch Challenge
April 6, 2019
Students, alumni, peers, faculty, and NYC entrepreneurs joined a pitch competition featuring some of the newest businesses coming out of Fordham University. Contestants competed for a whopping total of $25,000 in awards and funding. The new addition this year is a special award/prize for the business that provides the best social impact. The event was held at Fordham University, Rose Hill Campus, Keating Hall.

TrepCon: Fordham University Entrepreneurship Conference

TrepCon is the premier entrepreneurship conference at Fordham University, presented by Fordham Entrepreneurship Society and the Gabelli School of Business and sponsored by Deloitte. TrepCon 2019 is Fordham’s eighth annual Entrepreneurship Conference and brought together over 250+ students, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and community members for a series of workshops, interactive panels, keynote addresses, and networking events. The event was held at McNally Amphitheatre, Fordham Lincoln Center Campus.

VentureUP! Competition
December 8, 2018
Fordham Foundry’s first annual VentureUP! Competition, Fordham's version of Shark Tank! A panel of judges and audience members heard business pitches from companies founded by Fordham students and alumni. The competition enabled alumni, students, and staff to engage with each other and help build Fordham’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. $40,000 in cash and services were awarded to winning teams! The event was held at McNally Amphitheatre, Fordham Lincoln Center Campus.

Legal Landmines for Startups

Hosted and sponsored by WilmerHale and co-Sponsored by the Entrepreneurial Law Program at Fordham University School of Law, the event talked about how to avoid the most common and costly mistakes when starting your company. The event was held at Fordham Law School.

Startup LAWnchpad Conference
September 14, 2018
Hosted by the Entrepreneurial Law Program and Clinic at Fordham University School of Law, the conference theme was From Silicon Valley to Silicon Alley: Hot Topics at the Intersection of Law and Entrepreneurship. Thought leaders discussed current topics related to startup law, including technology transactions, cryptocurrency, initial coin offerings, equity crowdfunding, social entrepreneurship, impact investing, access to capital for female and multicultural founders, and more.
The Startup LAWnchpad Podcast-a new podcast for entrepreneurs that answers all the important legal questions entrepreneurs never knew to ask was launched during the conference. The event was held at Fordham Law School.

Professor Bernice Grant, the students of Fordham Law School's Entrepreneurial Law Clinic, and Professor John Normile covered topics including Founder's Agreements, Entity Formation, Venture Capital, and Intellectual Property.
