A reminder to those of you who prefer assigning e-books that unless your e-book is downloadable, the only way to give students access to their books during exams is by selecting the open laptop & network mode (more about in-person exam modes here). Given the academic integrity concerns presented by generative AI, those of you giving a take-home exam might consider an in-person exam instead. Please contact Assistant Dean Vanessa Garcia, the Law School Registrar ([email protected]), with any questions.
The Fordham Bookstore has a simple tool for you to use this adoption season – Follett Discover. Adopting on time contributes to course materials affordability. By submitting adoptions on or before the due date, your campus store has time to source used and rental inventory which translates to savings for your students. If you consistently use the same book from term to term, partner with the campus store to let them know because this will translate into even larger savings for your students.
Follett Discover allows you to easily discover, research, and adopt course materials all in one place. In addition to adopting traditional print materials, Follett Discover makes it easy to search and adopt non-traditional materials such as YouTube videos, open education resources, and MOOC content.
How to Access Follett Discover
- Log into your LMS (my.fordham.edu)
- Select Follett Discover or the Follett Discover icon
- Select the term
- Start discovering!
Alternatively, you can email your adoptions to me at [email protected]. They will require the following information included in the email:
- Course information
- Title
- Author
- Edition

A QR code is posted on the third and fourth floor hall bulletin boards, where students and faculty may scan and access the "Class Schedule" on their phone. The academic schedules are posted on the Law School website.

Once you are set up as an active employee, you can print/copy/scan directly from any printers on campus using your Fordham ID and the attached instructions. The instructions are affixed to all the copiers in the Law School. Please limit copies only pertaining to course needs.
Copy requests may be emailed to Owen Grey providing copy specifications. Please keep in mind that most projects require at least a 48-hour turnaround. Once completed, Owen Grey will notify you and the project will be available for pickup in the Adjunct Faculty Office in Room 7-146.

If you lose your I.D. card, please go to My-Pages, Employee section. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Photo ID Services. Click Report a lost or stolen ID Card Please note that co-teachers should have their own I.D. card, and guest lecturers can either be signed in by the primary instructor by Audrey Glassman, [email protected].
-
If you anticipate having one or more additional instructors co-teaching 25% or more of the class sessions for a particular course, you must obtain approval from Pam Bookman, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at [email protected] .
If co-teacher names are not reflected on the Class Schedule, please contact Audrey Glassman at [email protected]. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the accuracy of our official Class Schedule, which is a primary reference in managing electronic access, building security, teaching activity, and many other internal processes.
Whether or not they are receiving compensation, all co-teachers must have a teaching contract, and must undergo the same employment process. If there is compensation, it is generally evenly split between all the instructors, or based on their credit-hour contribution to the course.
Guest Lecturers: A co-teacher is distinguished from a guest lecturer, in that the latter generally only teaches 1-2 class sessions, and has a specialization that supplements the course requirements.
Guest lecturers may include a law librarian or a WestLaw/TWEN representative providing a refresher workshop on legal research for a course that requires a term paper. If the primary instructor is unexpectedly out 1-2 class sessions due to an illness or emergency, last-minute substitutes are generally considered guest lecturers as well.
Guest lecturers do not have to submit employment forms, and can be signed in by the primary instructor at the Security Desk. Guest lecturers arriving at the building alone should coordinate with the Law Security Desk in advance at 212-636-6975.

We strongly encourage you to take attendance and alert Assistant Dean Kimathi Gordon-Somers ([email protected]) of any students with irregular attendance.

Many of the Law School's adjunct professors are practitioners or have current or recent ties to the practitioner community. Students frequently benefit from discussions with adjunct professors about career options. This is one of the many ways in which the adjunct faculty serves as a valuable function to the student body. If you become aware of employment opportunities or are yourself in a position to offer employment to a Fordham Law student, please contact the Career Planning Center at [email protected] or post a job in the Online Job Bank. Each May, the adjunct faculty is also invited to volunteer to become an Adjunct Professor Advisor to a graduating JD student.
If you consult with students, particularly to the extent you are in a position to guide or recommend for employment only certain members of your class, please consider whether it may be appropriate to wait until the semester concludes and grades for the class have been submitted, so as to ensure parity amongst all students.
Please keep in mind that a Day Division student may not be employed more than 20 hours per week in any semester in which the student in enrolled in more than 12 credits. Full-time students must sign a statement to this effect every time they register, and students who violate this regulation are subject to disciplinary action.
-
The main entrance to the Law School is located at 150 West 62nd Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues. An alternative entrance is through the Lowenstein Building entrance at the corner of 60th Street and Columbus Avenue.
If you are an Adjunct teaching a Clinical, Legal Writing, or LLM course, please check with those departments for alternative resources or instructions.
