Anna Skotko
Adjunct Professor of Law
Anna Skotko is the founder and principal of Skotko Law PLLC, a litigation practice in New York City specializing criminal defense; investigations; appellate litigation; and civil dispute resolution. Prior to entering private practice, Anna served for over 13 years as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where she was lead counsel in numerous trials and authored/argued over a hundred cases on appeal. During her tenure, Anna rose to serve as Deputy Chief of Appeals and Acting Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division, overseeing and advising on a wide range of cases.
As an Adjunct Professor of Law at NYU Law School and Fordham Law School, Anna teaches advanced courses on professional responsibility and federal criminal prosecution and defense. Anna is an active member of the CJA Appellate Panel for the Second Circuit; the Federal Criminal Practice Committee of the Federal Bar Council; the New York City Bar Association; and the Women's White Collar Defense Association.
Earlier in her career, Anna clerked for the Hon. Barrington Parker, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and for the Hon. Barbara S. Jones (Ret.), U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Anna earned her law degree from Yale Law School. She also holds degrees from Oxford University and Harvard College, where she graduated summa cum laude.
