Jesse Ma is General Counsel at Upworthy, where he manages legal affairs for the company and serves as an advisor to the management team. Prior to Upworthy, Jesse was Counsel at Gawker Media where he, among other things, was involved with handling legal matters concerning breaking news stories, celebrities, and at one time, a lost iPhone. Outside of Upworthy and Fordham, Jesse is an active member of the startup community both as an investor and advisor. Jesse grew up in San Francisco and currently resides in New York City. He graduated from Fordham Law School in 2009 and the University of Chicago in 2005 with a degree in Economics. He is an avid skier and traveler. You can follow him on Twitter @jessema.
