Louisa Amankwah is the General Counsel at Yabu Pushelberg Inc, a New York, and Toronto-based interior design firm, and an award winner of AD 100 Hall of Fame and Design Studio of The Year Public Vote which specializes in design services for high-end hotels residential, luxury brands and many more around the world.
Before working for Yabu Pushelberg, Louisa worked for Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill (SOM), a renowned architectural firm known for their work throughout the world, such as the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and One World Trade Center in New York. Louisa Graduated from Westminster University in London with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry. Then, she obtained an MBA at the Manchester Business School in Manchester, UK, before receiving her Juris Doctor at Fordham School of Law.
Louisa’s understanding of business and her expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts has propelled her career on many fronts. In addition to her full-time job, Louisa provides a firm obtaining many awards worldwide with strategic business deals and pro bono services for families in the Supreme Court going through divorce or custody battles.
She is passionate about the evening school, as she was once an evening student. Louisa is not only about work but also loves the balanced life of being a wife and a wonderful mother to her fifteen-year-old son.
She is a philanthropist with an undeniable passion for helping smaller churches and orphanages in Ghana in Africa. Her generosity to churches, her community, and orphanages remains an integral part of her life as she balances her career, family, and philanthropic commitments.
