Rekha Rangachari has served as the Executive Director of the New York International Arbitration Center (NYIAC) since 2017. In her role at NYIAC, Rekha collaborates with stakeholders and thought leaders in the space to advance global scholarship and best practices; offers educational programming, events, and trainings; and operates world-class hearing facilities in Manhattan.
Rekha is actively engaged with the arbitration community. Rekha serves as Member of the New York City Bar’s Inter-American Affairs Committee and Chair of its Arbitration Subcommittee, Member of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) International Section’s Executive Committee and Co-Chair of its International Contracts and Commercial Law Committee, Member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Dispute Resolution and interlocuter for its Podcast Series, and Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF). In addition, Rekha is Board Member of ArbitralWomen (AW) and leads its Cooperation and Global Events Committees, Co-Chair of Racial Equality for Arbitration Lawyers (REAL), Member of the Equal Representation in Arbitration (ERA) Pledge Arbitrator Search and Young Professionals Committees, and Member of the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations. In parallel, Rekha maintains an active connection to academics as Associate Editor of the Juris Investment Arbitration Conference Volumes, Adjunct Professor at Fordham Law School, Cardozo School of Law, and Seton Hall Law School, and Peer Review Board Member of the American Review of International Arbitration (ARIA) at Columbia Law School.
