Stephen Paine

Adjunct Professor of Law

Stephen Paine is a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch based in New York. Stephen works in the Global Banking and Markets Compliance Department where is responsible for the Compliance Risk Assessment and Metrics, as well as the Monitoring and Testing Program.

Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Stephen held several different positions in Compliance and Controls at Credit Suisse both in its New York and London offices. Stephen has also worked at Morgan Stanley in its Litigation and Compliance Departments. Prior to assuming these in-house roles, Stephen was an associate at Sidley Austin in New York.

Stephen received his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and his law degree from Washington and Lee University. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Stephen has also served on boards and councils for various LGBT organizations.
