Fordham Law School is home to a thriving LGBTQ+ community of talented law students, accomplished legal scholars, and esteemed alumni.  From our OUTLaws student organization to our clinics and public interest work, we foster inclusion and belonging through outreach and service.

Our OUTLaws chapter is a key resource for student engagement and support.  Through innovative programs and impactful initiatives, this vital student organization is at the core of our mission at Fordham Law School to train the next generation of leaders.

National LGBT Bar Association 
Fordham Law School was an early adopter of the extensive resources developed by the National LGBT Bar Association to expand upon the student experience.

Climate Study 
We participate in the annual Law School Campus Climate Survey sponsored by the National LGBT Bar.  Fordham Law School continues to lead on diversity, equity, and inclusion in and out of the classroom.

Lavender Law 365
Fordham Law School partnered with the National LGBT Bar to provide diversity training for our community.  We also retained their leading consultant to advise on areas for greater inclusion resulting in an expansion of our student offerings.

Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair
Each year we sponsor OUTLaws student leaders to attend the Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair hosted by the National LGBT Bar.

Name Change Policy & Pronouns
Fordham Law School has adopted a name change policy for students.  Students may also designate their pronouns for school records, classes, and events.

Gender Neutral Restrooms
Gender neutral restrooms are located throughout our Lincoln Center campus.  Multiple single occupancy lockable restrooms are available within the Fordham Law School building.

5th – 2 between 5-37 and 5-119 (5th fl. Zone A) and 1 near 5-108 west side
6th – 1 near 6-12 (6th fl. Zone A)

Office of Multicultural Affairs
The Office of Multicultural Affairs at Fordham University hosts a number of programs and events for our diverse community of students, faculty and staff.

LGBTQ Resources at Fordham University 
The Office of Multicultural Affairs hosts a number of programs and initiatives to provide resources and support at our Lincoln Center and Rose Hill campuses.

LGBTQ and Ally Network of Support
Regular training sessions are offered for the Fordham community by the Office of Multicultural Affairs as part of the LGBTQ and Ally Network of Support.

Fordham Counseling Center 
Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) offers individual and group counseling sessions, including the LGBTQ+ Community Support Space.

LGBTQ Bar Association and Foundation of Greater New York (LeGaL)
Focused on the greater New York metropolitan area, LeGaL is dedicated to improving the administration of the law, ensuring full equality for members of the LGBT community, promoting the expertise and advancement of LGBT legal professionals, and serving the larger community.

Lamda Legal
Lambda Legal is a national organization based in NYC committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.

New York Legal Assistant Group
The New York Legal Assistant Group (NYLAG) offers legal assistance to LGBTQ communities ranging from name changes to estate planning.

National Resources

Transgender Law Center
Transgender Law Center (TLC) is the largest national trans-led organization advocating for a world in which all people are free to define themselves and their futures. 

National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
National Gay and Lesbian Task Force advocates on behalf of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community by training activists, organizing broad-based campaigns to defeat anti-LGBT referenda and advance pro-LGBT legislation, and generating groundbreaking research through the NGLTF Policy Institute.

Pride Law Fund
Pride Law Fund promotes the legal rights of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, and people living with HIV and AIDS, by funding legal services and projects and by sponsoring education and outreach.
