Resources for Student Caregivers
Fordham Law School is an inclusive community that welcomes students who are also caregivers. The Office of Student Affairs is available to provide resources to support students in their transition to law school and throughout their enrollment in a variety of life circumstances.
For students in need of childcare in the New York metropolitan area, the following information may be of interest.
Daycare/Preschool Resources
WeeCare has the largest network of licensed childcare providers in the United States, with more than 2,500 locations. The WeeCare referral service includes access to a dedicated Care Manager to assist you with finding, touring, and enrolling in a childcare program that meets your needs for full-time, part-time, back-up, drop-in, school-aged, or overnight care and Care Managers available to assist you 24/7 with your childcare needs.
Lactation Room Requests
If you are a nursing and need a private space to express breast milk, the University will make reasonable efforts to make a private space on campus available to you.
For Students:
- At the Lincoln Center campus, Room 140W G14A is open and available for use
- For Students at the Law School, the lactation room is 5-132. This room is on the 5th floor in the Law Library around the corner from the circulation desk, and it will have the same hours as the library. Any student wishing to book the room needs to go through our Circulation department. If there are any questions, student can go to the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Room 4-101, or contact OSA at 212-636-7155 or [email protected].
