How to Claim Your Account

FORDHAM IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (FIDN): Can be found on your admitted student portal

ACCESSIT ID: Your AccessIT ID is your electronic identity for logging on to services offered by Fordham University. You MUST claim your AccessIT ID to register for your classes and access the following services-mail, Blackboard and MyFiles. Tutorials on how to use these resources and services are available to you on the Home tab once you log in at My.fordham.edu. Detailed information on your AccessIT ID is available at: http://www.fordham.edu/accessIT. 

TO CLAIM YOUR ACCOUNT:
My.fordham.edu is the Fordham University portal for students, faculty, and staff.

  1. Go to my.fordham.edu and claim your AccessIT ID.
  2. Click the "Click Here to claim your AccessIT ID and set your password.” Follow the on-screen prompts. You will need the following information:
    • Your legal first and last name (as was provided on your application)
    • The last five (5) digits of your social security number.
    • Date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY)
    • Postal/Zip Code

*NOTE: International students who do not have a United States Zip Code must call the University Help Desk toll-free at 1-877-366-HELP (4357) for help in claiming their AccessIT ID. Please have your FIDN available when calling the Help Desk. Hours: Monday- Friday, 8AM - 6PM EDT

FORDHAM E-MAIL ACCOUNT: Your Fordham E-mail Username is your: [email protected]
(As soon as you claim, your e-mail account is available for immediate use)

BLACKBOARD: Fordham’s Web-based course-management system is designed to allow students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online or use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching.  Your courses will appear in Blackboard when classes begin.

MYFILES: Fordham’s file management system which provides 5GB of secure and private file storage for each student. Here you can backup pictures, photos, and coursework, minimizing the need for USB drives.
