Meet the Rose Hill Commuter Assistants

  • On campus I am involved in WFUV, the radio station on campus. As well as the Mimes & Mummers theatre group and the hispanic club, El Grito De Lares! I am also in the Honors Program and am a student worker at ID Services.
  • When I go out in NYC, I usually just go to eat! Some of my favorites are Black Tap Craft, and Charlie Palmer Steakhouse.
  • My favorite musical artist is Alaina Castillo. I love her voice/sound, and I look towards her for inspiration in my own original music. Vanessa Ramos on all platforms!

  • Major in Computer Science
  • I am a junior
  • I am currently involved in the Computer Science Society and Girls Who Code on campus. Additionally, I am a senior week volunteer and a student worker at Fordham's ID Services.
  • My favorite spot in NYC is Queens especially Jackson Heights because I grew up there and it's very diverse, there are so many unique places to eat and shop at. Some of my other favorite spots would be interactive museums in NYC such as the color factory or museum of ice cream.
  • My favorite music artist is Aboogie, the Weekend, and Nirvana but I basically listen to everything and love listening to new artists.

  • How do you get to campus: I commute via Metro-North train
  • Major: I am double majoring in Film & Television (film concentration) and English (with creative writing concentration)
  • Class year: Class of 2025
  • Involvement on campus: On campus I’m involved with videography through the photography club, I love being involved with Fordham Backstage and working on video production. I am involved with The Women’s Network and also enjoy being part of The Ampersand. Off campus I love being involved with my local community, along with my sister I volunteer at our local elementary school with their annual theater productions.
  • Favorite spots in NYC: I love Bryant park, getting a pastry and spending time in the park. I also love 5th ave and seeing all the cool fashion displays in the windows.
  • Favorite music artist: I absolutely love listening to Taylor Swift and Harry Styles is another favorite

Dana Kien

  • Class of 2025 I was part of ACE in my Freshman year and off-campus I worked on the John Sanchez for NY City Council Campaign in Fordham's district (D-15) as a canvasser and Social Media Coordinator.

  • Besides being active in Commuter Student Services as a CA, I have been involved in clubs such as the ACE, ASCEND, and TCS at LC. Other leadership roles I have been associated with were FAM for Gabelli and HEOP's Programming Assistant in the summer. You will also see me in the DMT/IS program.
  • My favorite spot in NYC has to be Central Park! I love walking around the park and visiting different parts of the city. I usually end up in Chinatown or Soho after my long walk from Central Park. Banh mi and Hotpot are my go-to places in Chinatown. Other areas that I enjoy going to are Flushing and Astoria because of the fantastic cuisine.

  • Involvement on campus: I am a student worker at Fordham's Career Center. Additionally, I am a writer for FFP's blog and BioMag.
  • Favorite spots in NYC: I love the MET, the Strand Bookstore, and walking around Chinatown/Soho area.

  • Involvement: I will be a RTA during the “Visions of the Good in the Bronx” summer program in which I’ll help assist some high school students on the Rose Hill campus for three weeks.
  • I think my favorite spot in NYC might be union square. I find myself over there a lot going to either Flight Club or Forbidden Planet. I also think Barreto Park is a nice spot in the Bronx and I’m almost always there.

  • Involvement: On campus, I am part of Fordham Christian Fellowship and the Value Investing Club. Off campus I do a lot of personal and basketball training as well as volunteer work with ENNYC.
  • Favorite spots in NYC: One place I like to hang out is riverside park. Theres so much to do from sports, picnics, runs, and anything you could think of. Personally, I have done and enjoyed all of the above. And something else thats nice about it is that it is by the Hudson River so it’s usually cooler and more scenic. Plus, the sunsets are amazing!

  • As a lifelong Yankees fan, Yankee Stadium is one of my favorite places to be in the city. I also enjoy hanging out in Astoria and LIC as there are nice views of the city and tons of activities to do.
