Ram Fit Center Staff
The Ram Fit Center staff is led by Sarah Longley Bickford, administrator of fitness and recreation.
Bickford, who has 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, was named administrator of fitness and recreation for the new Ram Fit Center at Fordham University in September 2012. She is responsible for managing the newest fitness facility on campus, as well as organizing group exercise classes.
As a locally recognized fitness professional, Bickford has a broad set of fitness expertise including leading group exercise classes, personal training, lecturing on anatomy and physiology, and management consulting to major fitness companies. Her knowledge of nutrition and fitness leadership has added value to innovative fitness marketing, program development, and increased revenue and membership retention.
“The balance of fitness and nutrition in everyone’s daily life is something I strive to teach,” said Bickford. “I am overjoyed at the endless possibilities the new McGinley Fitness Center has for group fitness. With my excitement, I look forward to sharing my experience and education with the Fordham University community.”
Bickford’s fitness certifications include AFAA Weight Training; Group Fitness Instructor; Personal Trainer; TRX. Group Suspension Training; Mad Dogg Spinning; IM=X Pilates Reformer & Mat; Muscular Strength & Range of Movement (Chair based class for adults 65+) and ISCA Kickboxing Instructor. She is also certified in CPR/AED.
A Queens (NY) College graduate, with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science/nutrition, she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the same field at Queens College.
Bickford also has dance performance and choreography experience in jazz, modern, ballet, and tap.
The front desk staff includes Fordham student workers and campus security guards. In addition, our fitness professionals provide group classes.
