Ellen Fahey-Smith

Dr. Ellen Fahey-Smith serves as Vice Provost for Administration, Office of the Provost, at Fordham University. She assists the Provost with the overall planning process for academic operations, and the implementation of academic strategic plans across the University.

She coordinates special assignments and projects, and oversees personnel management and development within the office. She also oversees and coordinates International Initiatives, University Libraries, University Press, and the University Radio Station, WFUV. Dr. Fahey-Smith is responsible for ensuring effective communication and collaboration among University entities, including Public Relations, Development and University Relations, and General Counsel, among others. She serves as liaison from the Office of the Provost to the broader community, including college and university officials, elected representatives, alumni, educational partners, and advisory board members.

Dr. Fahey-Smith holds a B.A. in Economics and French, a Master in Business Administration in global finance from Fordham University, and a doctoral degree in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania. She has close to a decade of experience in international banking, with particular expertise in currency exchange markets.
