Fashion Studies Director
Dr. Robb Hernández is a Professor in the English department. He earned is BA/BS from the University of Colorado at Boulder, MA University of California, Los Angeles, and PhD from University of Maryland, College Park
His research and teaching interests include Latinx literary and visual culture studies; queer of color and trans of color critique; archive theory and practice; contemporary art; performance studies; speculative aesthetics and public humanities.
Fashion Studies Advisor
Allison Pfingst is a fashion historian and archivist. She earned her master’s degree in Dress and Textile Histories from the University of Glasgow and her undergraduate degree in Art History from Fordham University at Lincoln Center. She holds a professional designation in Collections Management for Costume and Textiles for which she completed her training at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Her research focuses on the use of dress in constructing and perpetuating female archetypes and stereotypes throughout history.
